BNP Cetelem revolving credit contract Amurabi legal design

Issue

How to make people understand the scope of a revolving credit offer and not stop at "3 times without fees"?

EXPERTISE

Solution

Redesign of the revolving credit agreement

Year

2022

Context

Revolving credit contracts are often signed blindly, so the customer knows that he will be able to spread his payment over time, but is not aware of the extent of the offer he is committing to. How to generate customer commitment and enable them to make an informed decision independently?

Process

We assisted Cetelem in the redesign and reformulation of the Revolving Credit Agreement, but also in the acquisition of the methodological bases of user centricity and clear language through the co-creation of a white paper on legal design, to enable BNP PF's lawyers to assimilate the methodology and to apply it to other projects through the white paper.

The co-construction of this White Paper contributes to the smooth adoption and therefore to the management of change within the bank.

Results

Through the workshops conducted and the redesign of the contract, we enabled BNP to clarify and explain the scope of the product, but also to demonstrate its innovative strength. This awareness of the real content of the contract benefits both the bank and the client, who regains confidence.
