Background and PROCESS

The project was born of the realization that the existing Code of Ethics, while comprehensive, lacked the clarity, dynamism and accessibility to fully reflect the company's values and capture the interest of its audience. The existing document was a collection of Word files, making it difficult to navigate and impractical to consult. Key themes, such as relations with healthcare professionals or anti-corruption measures, were covered only on the surface, leaving room for improvements to make these sections more precise and easier to apply. Furthermore, the code struggled to effectively convey the company's values and encourage adherence to its mission: "to do the right thing". Employee feedback highlighted that the document was considered difficult to read and, as a result, often ignored, leading to uneven application. This context clearly revealed the need to rethink the Code of Ethics to make it clear, inspiring and deeply rooted in the company's core values, yet practical and relevant to everyday life.

Solution

The redesigned Code of Ethics has been transformed into a visually appealing, accessible and user-friendly document that fully embodies the company's core values. As part of the redesign, extensive research and testing was carried out with users. Whereas employees initially described the old code with terms like "long, arduous, dry, repetitive, tedious, difficult to use, limited, unwelcoming", they now use words like "welcoming, elegant, friendly, aesthetic, easy to navigate, in tune with the brand, well-organized" to describe the new version. The code was designed by experts, translated into seven languages, and distributed worldwide via the company's intranet to ensure its accessibility to all employees. Interactive elements, such as quizzes at the end of each section, have been integrated to offer a more engaging experience, transforming reading into genuine active training rather than a simple text to be read and memorized. This new version not only effectively conveys ethical principles: it also reinforces the link with the company's values, inspiring greater buy-in and commitment among teams.
